PROJECT NEWS
We are currently nearing completion on Newquay Primary School, Launceston Primary School, Crescent Centre and AFC Bournemouth Training Facility. Look out for the project case studies which will be coming soon on the Project page of our website.

Looking ahead to next year, our work board is already filling up with projects from both existing and new clients. We have recently secured a project with Principal Contractor, Bomer + Kirkland to provide the glazing package for a brand-new student residential development SAP4 which is in Abbeywood, Bristol. The building is targeting BREEAM ‘Excellent’ as a minimum and to help towards achieving this certification our Estimator has included triple glazed windows which will considerably reduce the U-values. The overall glazing package of approximately £2.2 million consists of Windows, Door and Curtain Walling which will be fabricated from Technal Profile Systems and will also include acoustic louvres, steel doors and automatic doors.

Kier Construction is the Principal Contractor for the new Community Hub, named Y Storfa, which is being developed in Swansea. We have been appointed as the subcontractor for the glazing package and will be on site at the beginning of next year installing both Curtain Walling and Windows which will be manufactured from Technal Profile Systems.

We will also be subcontracting for Kier Construction at the new Defence College of Technical Training at the former RAF Lyneham base in Wiltshire. Installation activities are due to start in January 2025 with a focus on quality assurance which will be achieved in collaboration with Kier.

TRAINING

Training has recently been completed for Schüco Enhanced Systems which enables us to continue to provide blast resistant products to our customers. With large unit sizes, the blast-resistant Schüco FW 80+ XR (Explosion-Resistant) façade system is tested in accordance with ISO 16933 and perfectly combines high security with modern architecture.

Our installation teams are nearing the end of their GQA Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Fenestration Installation which demonstrates their knowledge and skills of the fenestration industry. The supervisory element of the course is also being completed which will result in a Gold Supervisor CSCS card being issued upon completion of the course. The Gold Supervisor CSCS Card is a highly recognised qualification which demonstrates our subcontractors expertise in fenestration installation and supervising activities on site.

Our annual surveillance audit for the manufacture of Schuco ADS 80 FR 30 and Schuco ADS 80 FR60 fire doors was conducted this month with no nonconformances reported. This certification provides our customers with the reassurance that our Factory Production Control processes are continually monitored with product outputs meeting the quality standards of the Construction Product Regulation, enabling us to affix the recognised UKCA mark of trust to our products.

We are a fabricator partner of SE Controls who manufacture the actuators fitted to the Automatic Opening Vents (AOVs) which enables the AOV to open in the event of a fire allowing smoke to disperse from the building. We have are annual surveillance audit in January 2025 which will be conducted by IFC to ensure our Factory Production Control processes meets the requirements of EN 12101-2. We will keep you updated on the outcome of the audit in our next newsletter.
