Kier Construction, the Principal Contractor, appointed AAAG Ltd to design, manufacture and install curtain walling, windows and doors at a new state of the art school development for Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Tan-Y-Lan in Swansea.

Working to a tight programme, we were able to meet the needs and expectations of both the Architect and Principal Contractor, providing technical advice where required. The curtain walling was fabricated from Technal MX 52 CAPPED system and windows from the Technal FY65 profile system incorporating top hung vents, fixed lights and insulation backed aluminium louvre panels to accommodate the connecting M&E ducting. Huge savings were made, working with Kier, to respecify the aluminium louvre panels alongside the M&E system whilst maintaining the strict ventilation strategy.

The orange and yellow glazed areas were created using the VANCEVA interlayers located within the thick laminated internal pane of the IGU with the installation being carried out via a mobile crane due to their size and weight.
